This Newsletter is published in honor of Humberto E. Aguirre June 26, 1936 - April 22, 2008 |
Humberto was born in Mazatlan, Mexico. He was raised by his mother and grandmother. He worked for the railroad when he was a teenager. At the age of 18, he move to Tijuana and got a job in a bank. Humberto loved baseball and he would bicycle to watch games at the baseball fields in Tijuana. He was a walking encyclopedia about baseball. He always knew baseball trivia. Especially about the Yankees, and of course, the San Diego Padres. He met his wife Estella at a party and she gave him her phone number. He didn’t call back for two weeks, but then called and after the first date they were inseparable and got married June 7, 1959. They had three boys, Henry Daniel and David, who had 11 children who produced three great grandkids for Humberto and Estella. They are a wonderfully close family, and did many things as a family together. Estella was always by his side and loved him dearly. They also adopted Jenny who they treated as their own and helped her complete college. Humberto worked for Progress for 25 years starting in Conrad’s initial storage and motel business and worked his way up to Maintenance Supervisor of over 5,000 units for Progress Management Company. Humberto was a tireless worker and loved doing weekend projects with Tino, Serafin and Tony from Mesa Ridge. Humberto loved his work and doing what was best for the company. He had very high standards and ethics. He will be missed but not forgotten. We love you Humberto!
